Relaxing Hot Yoga

If you’re in need of some relaxation and time to unwind, especially as the holiday stress approaches and cooler months are at hand, Bikram hot yoga is a great way to spend your night or day out. There are many locations around town that offer yoga, but only a few that have the specialized rooms set up for hot yoga.

Hot yoga is especially great for the body because in your body loosens up in the warm, humid environment. Think about getting a hot stone massage and imagine that, instead of stones or warm hands, your muscles are doing the massaging for you. You will stretch and work every muscle, tendon, join and ligament while moving blood throughout your body. You gain strength and flexibility over time, as well as the ability to meditate and concentrate. The overall tone of hot yoga is relaxing music, a warm environment, and calm positioning which all brings relaxation and a release of tension throughout your mind and body.

As soon as you walk out of class you’ll feel like a million bucks, and you have the added benefit of the cool weather to wash away the heat of the class. Check out any one of Houston’s amazing yoga studios that offers Hot Yoga, such as Yoga OneBikram Hot Yoga, or Bikram Yoga Westheimer. These all have locations across the Houston area, so definitely consider hot yoga the next time you need some time to yourself to relax. You’ll gain muscle tone, relieve stress, and leave happy and healing.

I am not totally understanding what ‘hot’ yoga is. Is it just regular yoga in a really hot room? If so,then how hot do they tend to keep it?

Exactly Patty! It’s Bikram yoga, which including 26 different poses, in a room kept as warm as 105 degrees. Great question!
