Make something savory for your sweetheart this Valentine’s Day!
Dough:
· 1 package of yeast
· 1 Tbsp sugar
· 1 cup warm water
· 1 Tsp salt
· 3 tbsp olive oil
· 1 ¾ cup white flour
· 1 ¼ cup whole wheat flour
Pizza Filling:
· Mozzarella cheese
· Marinara sauce
· Pepperoni
Combine the yeast and sugar with warm water, and let set for 5 minutes. Then mix remaining ingredients, and add the yeast mixture into it. Let dough rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours.
Roll out a small portion of the dough, and cut out two equal sized hearts. Fill a thin layer of marinara sauce, pepperoni (we used turkey pepperoni), and cheese onto one heart, then add the heart on top and crimp the edges together with a fork.
Set on baking tray and bake at 400 for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned.
Once they’ve cooled, dip in marinara sauce and enjoy with your Valentine!
