This year make Mother’s Day more special with a cute flower pen craft everyone can do together. With very little supplies you and your family will be making these flower pens in no time.
Supplies Needed:
– Package of pens any color(s)
– Silk flowers
– Washi tape or green crafting tape
– Construction paper, card stock paper, scrapbooking paper (for the labels)
– Markers for writing on stock construction paper
– Scissors
– Glue
-Hand held hole puncher
– Gemstones different colors (Optional)
Parents you might want to do this first step if your children are too young to handle scissors. Trim the stems off the flowers, leaving a small part of the stem and some leaves on.
Open the package of pens and set them aside, and if you would like cut long pieces of green crafting tape or washi tape and place them ready at the corner edges of your dining table.
Use the scissors to cut out labels for the flower pens using the construction, card stock, or scrap booking paper in a scallop shape or any shape choice desired. You and your children can use the markers to Write Happy Mother Day on the paper labels and set them aside. Make sure to make them big enough to punch a hole in them to attach to the pen.
You can even place gems on the labels using the tacky glue or even on the flower for an added bling. Don’t forget to place your label on the side of the stem before wrapping it up.
Grab a pen and place a flower against the top of it. Use your tape to slowly and tightly wrap up the pen, so that the stem of the flower is secured to the pen but the label still sticks through.
And it’s completed! Pass them around to moms nearest and dearest to you. With things that can be found at your local craft store, Wal-Mart, or even dollar tree you and your family can enjoy making these beautiful creations. This craft project is not just for moms and little girls, have dad and the little brothers in on the fun too.
