Houston’s Annual Art Car Parade

Houston is proud to be the home of a unique show that’s the talk of the town every year. The largest parade of its kind in the world, the Houston Art Car Parade is an opportunity for Houstonians and their amazing motorized creations to really strut their stuff!

The first art car parade was a hit in May of 1986, when 11 vehicles were paraded down Montrose Boulevard. The parade now boasts over 300 participants, who ride down Allen Parkway in front of a live audience of over 100,000 people attending to watch their wheeling creations, including classic and low-rider cars.

The 27th annual Houston art car parade will be held Saturday, May 10th, 2014. And for parents looking to hit the town, there’s the Legendary Art Car Ball today, Friday, May 9th, 6pm – 11pm at the Allen Center with live entertainment! While you will have to pay $30 at the door for the ball, the parade is a FREE event that’s sure to be a blast for all ages!
