How to get Kool-Aid Out of Light-Colored Carpet

As parents, it can almost feel impossible to avoid Kool-Aid and other juice stains permanently damaging your carpet. Luckily, this handy trick ensure that those spills won’t stick around for long!

What you will need:
-Club soda
-Water
-Ammonia
-Spray bottle
-Clothes iron
-White towels
-Vacuum

Instructions:
1. If the stain is still wet, cover the area with club soda.

2. Blot the stain with a clean towel to absorb as much of the liquid as possible. Be sure not to rub the carpet, as this can drive the stain deeper or make it larger.

3. Heat up the clothes iron to the highest cotton setting.

4. While the iron is heating up, mix equal parts ammonia and hot water in the spray bottle.

5. Liberally apply the ammonia solution to the stain by spraying it with the spray bottle.

6. Lay a white towel over the stain (Do not use a colored towel, as the color can be transferred to the carpet.).

7. Iron over the towel in 10 second increments. Continue moving the iron, to avoid burning or melting the carpet. The stain should start transferring to the towel.

8. Once the used area of the towel has been saturated, reposition it so that a clean area is over the stain and iron again. Reapply the cleaning solution as needed. Repeat this process until the stain has disappeared.

9. When the carpet has dried completely, vacuum over the area to restore the carpet’s softness.
