Catch This Labor Day: D-Day 3D Normandy 1944

Labor Day first began in 1887 to honor the American worker, who helped the country flourish both socially and economically. But during the second World War, able bodied men traded their work boots for military ones, and women began to roll up their sleeves to support their troops from home, creating a new American workforce. While you enjoy your day off, remind the family why we can enjoy days like these. Watch the landing that changed the world at the Houston Museum of Natural Science‘s newest giant screen 3D experience, featuring the most important Allied operation of World War II, D-Day.

D-Day 3D: Normandy 1944” opens to the public on May 23rd, in the HMNS Wortham Giant Screen Theatre. This film for all ages will be played off of the 60′ foot x 80′ foot screen, and depict the momentous event on June 6, 1944 when brave Allied forces stormed the Normandy beaches and into the history books forever.

Through cinematographic techniques like animation, CGI and live action images, the audience will be transported back to in time and immersed in human stories, history, military strategy, science, and technology. Get a rare view of the biggest Allied operation of WWII, and learn more about our country, and the world’s, harrowing past.
