Sweet and Savory Salmon

I love salmon, so I’m always on the hunt for creative new recipes. This one I found on A Beautiful Mess has a fun Asian flair, combining miso paste and honey for a sweet and savory taste. Plus, all you have to do is pop it into the oven; it’s yummy and simple to make!

Ingredients:
– 13-15 oz salmon
– 2 tablespoons miso paste
– ½ tablespoon sesame oil
– 1 tablespoon honey
– ½ tablespoon rice vinegar
– ½ tablespoon soy sauce
– Lime juice (about half a lime’s worth)
– 1 clove of garlic, minced
– 1 teaspoon minced ginger
– ½ tablespoon olive oil
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped

First, mix together ingredients from miso paste to lime juice, and then add the minced garlic and ginger.

Place parchment paper over a baking sheet and lightly spread ½ tablespoon of olive oil on it. Next add your salmon onto the oiled paper and pour the miso glaze on top on of each piece. Sprinkle some salt and pepper on top of each, and let set for ten minutes. Meanwhile, preheat your oven on to 400 degrees.

Once it’s finished marinating, put into the oven for eight to ten minutes. When it has finished and cooled, add the green onions on top and serve. I like to pair mine with a snap pea salad and light vignette, but it would also go well with rice or couscous!
