Liquid Sidewalk Chalk

Parents love when their children express themselves creatively, but aren’t always crazy about the mess that may come with it.  But, by using liquid sidewalk chalk, the kids can show off their artistic side without you having to worry about the clean up!  This simple recipe consists of common kitchen supplies, and is a crafty, fun alternative to traditional sidewalk chalk.  Your child will be just as happy about this new discovery as you are!

 What you will need:
-1 cup water
-1 cup cornstarch
-Food coloring of your child’s choice
-Paintbrushes
-Plastic cup(s)

Pour equal parts water and equal parts cornstarch into a disposable cup and stir (if you intend to create several colors, a muffin pan can make a great color palette to fit them all). Have your child pick the food coloring and stir it into the mixture. Let your little artist create sidewalk art!

The mixture is supposed to appear thin, but it will dry in bright colors after the food coloring is mixed in, and the clean up is very easy. Just rinse all supplies with water and let your little Picasso enjoy!
