DIY Corkboard

Maybe you just moved into a new house or perhaps you just want to add a little flair to your favorite room while showing off a few favorite old photos or cards. I’ve found the perfect DIY project that mixes style and functionality on Suze Geeks Out. Start with a few basic you probably have lying around your place already; a large frame, wine corks, paint, anchors, nails, a glue gun and glue.
Step 1: Round up your wine corks. Make sure you have enough corks to completely fill your frame when glued down. If you don’t have enough corks, you can buy them at your local craft store or have an instant excuse to gather the girls for a few bottles of vino!
Step 2: Lay out your pattern. Your options are endless here but keep in mind you will have to do some cutting to fill the frame edge to edge with the corks (especially if you have a round frame).
Step 3: Prep and paint your frame. Remove the glass from the frame, depending on the type of frame you may have to prime before you paint. Make sure you chose the right paint for the frame material. Now you’re ready to paint your heart out.
Step 4: Glue the corks down. Once your frame is dry, replace the glass. Use the pattern you’ve already laid out and glue your corks to the glass. Keep gluing and let dry.
Step 5: Hang! Use some heavy duty anchors (this could get heavy!) to hang your fabulous new corkboard.
Let us know how your corkboard turns out! Have you made this project before? Tell us about it in the comments below.
