Designing A Masterful Bedroom

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom should serve as a sanctuary or escape for any homeowner. If you are going to spend quality time with yourself or your partner in your bedroom, it should be comfortable and include any amenities that you might need. The following design tips can help you achieve your ideal bedroom!

1. Maximizing the space that you have is important for any room. Get rid of clutter that might make your bedroom appear smaller.

2. Place furniture like a chest of drawers or dresser in your closet if possible. Using only necessary furniture and freeing up any available floor space will make it easier to move about the room.

3.  Many times the bed in a master bedroom becomes the focal point of the room by default. It is acceptable to use a headboard, but using a footboard can make the space feel cramped. A four-poster bed can also take up space visually in your room, so avoid this if you have a smaller sized master room.

4. Opt for a light color scheme if you’re working with a smaller space. Generally, light colored walls, floors, and bedding will give the illusion of more space in a room.

5. Bed side tables are a must, as they can prove to come in handy. Add as big of a table as space will allow; like a small cocktail or end table, and drape it with your favorite fabric. This method is very affordable and creative.

6. If you have enough space, try to incorporate at least one comfortable chair in your room. These are great if you have company, to read in, or simply for resting.

7. You might want to consider carpeting the floors of your bedroom, as it can cut back on noise. You can also purchase a large area rug that compliments the colors in your room.

Now that you have these tools to shape your bedroom, you can kick-back, relax and enjoy your masterpiece!
