Fall is such a fantastic time of year to have plenty of family fun outdoors. Our sticky Houston summer is over and now you can enjoy the crisp, cooler Autumn weather with your kids while you pick pumpkins for your Halloween decorations! Pumpkin patches are perfect photo ops for those cute years and pictures you can send to the grandparents for great keepsakes. They’re also a blast for kids, sometimes having face painting, hay rides and all sorts of other fun entertainment for everyone. Here are some great Houston area pumpkin patches we found on ABC13 that you can take the family to this month to enjoy all of this fun!

Dewberry Farms, located in Brookshire, has everything you need to have an amazing day.  They have a corn maze, hayrides, train rides, ziplines, a barnyard and 500 beautifully lighted pumpkins in their “Punkin Hollar.” The admission is super cheap, at only $12.75 for ages 3 and up, with discounts for seniors, military, and law enforcement. For pumpkin picking they offer over 8 acres of selection for you to peruse and get plenty of cute photos.

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church is so popular for their pumpkin patch they are known as “The Pumpkin Church”. Located in Pearland, the church helps fund domestic and international youth trips and helps repair the homes of the needy in the area.

The Gospel Truth Church has their own smaller sized pumpkin patch, but the draw of this one is that you don’t have to go too far outside of the city. They are inside the Garden Oaks neighborhood and offer a nice family outing you won’t have to drive half the day for, as well as some great dining options and parks very nearby.

The Oil Ranch is just a short jot northwest of Houston and is one of the biggest fall festivals around town. It is open all week and weekends and they give you a free pumpkin with every paid children’s admission! The entire pumpkin patch is decorated with amazing scarecrows, alongside painted pumpkins in the barns. They have hayrides, train rides and plenty of interesting animals on their property for the kids to enjoy.
