This place is perfect for families to come out and enjoy movies in the family car. The sprawling Showboat Drive In complex has tickets available for purchase as you pull up the driveway. You can pull in and park facing the appropriate screen (The Showboat has two HUGE screens on either side of the concession stand) and walk over to the indoor concessions booth.
The best part about this theater is the cheap concessions (nowhere near the cost of a traditional movie theater!) and cheap tickets. Kids ages 3-12 are only $4 at the door, babies under 3 are free. The Showboat is located at 22422 FM 2920 in Hockley, not too far of a drive from Tomball, Cypress, Jersey Village or Spring. They are open Fridays and Saturdays at 6:30pm and Sundays starting at 7:30pm, with the first feature starting at dusk all weekend.
We recommend bringing a full picnic dinner in with you and buying snacks in between movies, as well as bringing some outdoor seating for yourself and the kids. Movie goers are encouraged to play outside the vehicles prior to show times, so a frisbee or football may also come in handy. Also be sure to come with cash along, as the theater is cash only, with an ATM in the Snack Shop. Pets are allowed to join too, as long as they don’t bother other patrons and are kept in the vehicle. Have fun at the movies!
