If you and your children love strawberries, I have the perfect outdoor activity for you. Froberg’s Farm located in Alvin, Texas, (about 40 minute drive from Houston) is a wonderful way to get hands on with healthy produce! They allow you to pick your own strawberries, as well as purchase other fresh fruits and vegetables all grown on their eighty year old farm.

To pick the strawberries you pay a dollar for a bucket, and you get to keep it, so you don’t have to worry about strawberry storage home. Then, it’s another $2.25 per pound for the strawberries. It’s definitely worth the experience, and it’s a fun way to choose your own fruit! But remember to wear shoes you don’t mind getting a little dirty; it can get muddy out there.

After picking your strawberries, you can browse the other thirty varieties of fruit and vegetables for sale. There’s also a family run smoke house on the farm that sells homemade meat items and cheeses. Enjoy your day at the farm and let us know what you thought in the comments below!

This is a fun outing for the entire family. So fun to watch all the children picking strawberries and their priceless faces when they spot a berry to pick.
