Celebrate the Year of the Goat! The Lunar New Year is Thursday, February 19th and Houston is joining in on the festivities. From February 7th to the 28th, celebrate the Chinese New Year all over town!
Creation Station Lunar New Year: February 7th, 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Asia Society
Take the kids to the Lunar New Year Workshop. Here you can learn about the zodiacs and other New Year customs. There will also be storytelling, painting and crafts!
Lunar New Year Festival: February 14th, 10:00am-4:00pm at the Chinese Community Center
Every year the Chinese Community Center hosts a Lunar New Year Festival with a family friendly market place. Bring the kids to learn about Chinese culture, see the local artists and watch various performing groups.
Lions! Dragons! Fireworks!: February 21st and 22nd, 11:00am-7:00pm at the Viet Hoa Center
Celebrate for two day at the Viet Hoa Center. There will be lion and dragon dances… and fireworks!
Chinese New Year Festival: February 28th at the Mandarin Chinese New Year Festival
Wrap up the New Year holiday at the Mandarin Chinese Language Immersion School. This HISD magnet school immerses the elementary age kids in Mandarin Chinese language and culture. Visit the event for performances, food, a market place and activities!
